The selectors have decided to rest most of the top players playing the ICC Men’s ODI World Cup. Therefore, Suryakumar Yadav has been given the responsibility of leading the Indian team in the five-match T20 International series against Australia starting on November 23 in Visakhapatnam.

In this meeting, while deciding on the selection of players for the five-match T20 International series starting against Australia, it was decided to rest all the top players except Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan and Prasidh Krishna. When all-rounder Hardik Pandya was injured, Prasidh Krishna was included in the team in his place.

Currently the head coach of the team is Rahul Dravid and his tenure is about to end after the World Cup. Team head coach Rahul Dravid has decided to take leave after three months. Therefore, former Indian batsman and National Cricket Academy (NCA) chief V.V.S. was appointed as the coach of the team. There is a possibility of Laxman being declared.
