Indian right-handed batsman Suryakumar Yadav is expected to join the Mumbai Indians camp in IPL 2024 by Friday. He is expected to play in the match against Delhi Capitals on Sunday afternoon at the Wankhede Stadium. Suryakumar has yet to play a single match due to his injury this season. But now a big update has come out about his fitness, which will make Mumbai Indians fans very happy.
Suryakumar Yadav has been declared fit to play by the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru. After which it is expected that Suryakumar will join the MI camp by tomorrow i.e. April 5. He was not able to play cricket for more than three months. Suryakumar is likely to meet his teammates on April 5 when the entire Mumbai Indians team returns to Mumbai after the ongoing break in Jamnagar, Gujarat.
Suryakumar last played competitive cricket during the T20 International series of India’s tour of South Africa in December 2023. He injured his ankle while fielding in the match and was initially ruled out for seven weeks. However, another injury later surfaced and he underwent a sports hernia operation on 17 January in Munich, Germany. Due to which he was out of the field till now.
He was captaining India during the T20I leg of the tour of South Africa and scored his fourth century in the format in the third T20I in Johannesburg, scoring 100 runs in 56 balls. India won the series under his captaincy.
