Wanindu Hasaranga will lead the 16-member T20 squad against Zimbabwe, which was announced by the Sri Lanka Cricket Selection Committee on Tuesday.
A three-match T20 series is going to be played between Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe. For which leg-spin bowling all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga has been given the responsibility of the Sri Lankan team.
Wanindu Hasaranga is known for his game-changing abilities and is all set to lead the Sri Lankan team in the three-match T20 series against Zimbabwe. It is believed that this preparation is being done for the much-awaited 2024 Men’s T20 World Cup to be held in West Indies and United States.
While leg-spin bowling all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga has been made the captain of the Sri Lankan team, Charith Asalanka has been named as the vice-captain.
Experienced Angelo Mathews, who was left out of the ODI squad, has returned to the T20 squad, adding experience and depth to the squad.
All T20 matches from 14 January 2024 to 18 January 2024 will be played at the R Stadium of the host team Colombo. Will play at Premadasa Stadium.
