The Wimbledon 2024 final was played on Sunday between Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic. 21-year-old Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz defeated Serbia’s Novak Djokovic in the Wimbledon final 6-2, 6-2, 7-6 (7-4) and won the Wimbledon title for the second time. Last year also the final of Wimbledon was played between Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic, in which Alcaraz won. Alcaraz also won the Wimbledon title by defeating Djokovic, repeating the results of the last Wimbledon final.
On the victory of Carlos Alcaraz, Sachin Tendulkar posted on social media platform X and praised him and wrote, “From now on tennis, only one will rule, that is Alcaraz.” Winning a Wimbledon final in straight sets against a world-class opponent is no joke. With that kind of strength, speed, placement and energy, it looks like Carlos Alcaraz will benefit for years to come. Hats off to Novak Djokovic for his dignity and his demeanor in victory and defeat. To me this is the epitome of a true sportsman.
Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz has won the fourth Grand Slam title of his career. Earlier in the year 2022, Carlos Alcaraz won the US Open title, he won the Wimbledon title last year and this year he won the French Open title. Also, Novak Djokovic has not won any title in the year 2024.

Carlos Alcaraz dominated Djokovic from the start of the game in the final, while 24-time Grand Slam winner Novak Djokovic was not at his best. The same situation continued in the second set.
However, in the third set, Djokovic attempted a comeback and managed to win the next game from 4–5 down. He also won the sixth game of the third set, after which the third set went to a tie-breaker.
Djokovic didn’t let the young Alcaraz win easily, even in the tie-breaker, leveling the game at 3-3. However, Alcaraj held on throughout the three sets and won the tie-breaker 7–4 to claim her second Wimbledon title. Alcaraz used his backhand brilliantly in this match and constantly put Djokovic on the back foot.
Novak Djokovic has won the Wimbledon title seven times. However, he missed out on equaling Roger Federer’s record eighth title. If Djokovic succeeds in winning the title this time around, he will also become the oldest player in history to do so.
