Dambulla, July 26 (UITV)- The matches of Women’s Cricket Asia Cup 2024 are being played in Dambulla, Sri Lanka, in which the two finalist teams of the tournament will be decided today. So far, the Indian team has performed brilliantly and secured a place in the semi-finals. The Indian team is just two steps away from its 8th title.
Today, on Friday, the first semi-final match of this edition of the tournament between India and Bangladesh will start at 2 pm in Dambulla, while the second semi-final will be played between Pakistan and Sri Lanka at 7 pm today.
The Indian team has performed amazingly in the Women’s Asia Cup. India has won the trophy seven times in a total of eight editions so far, while Bangladesh has won the Asia Cup trophy once. However, the Indian team looks much stronger than Bangladesh in the current tournament. But, a total of 4 matches have been played between India and Bangladesh in the Women’s Asia Cup and both the teams have been tied. The final match of the year 2018 was played between India and Bangladesh, in which Bangladesh defeated India and won the title. Therefore, the Indian team will not make the mistake of considering Bangladesh weak in today’s semi-final match.
The second semi-final between Pakistan and Sri Lanka will be played from 7 pm. It is believed that there will be a tough competition between the two teams in this match. The Sri Lankan team is in great form in the current tournament, while the Pakistan team also includes many veteran players. If India defeats Bangladesh in the first semi-final match and Pakistan manages to defeat Sri Lanka in the second semi-final match, then the final match of the Women’s Asia Cup 2024 is likely to be between India and Pakistan. But, the host team looks stronger than Pakistan. Therefore, it would not be wrong to say that both the semi-final matches to be held today are going to be very exciting.
