Domestic electronics brand BoAt has acknowledged allegations of alleged data breaches by potential customers and said the company is investigating possible data leaks involving its customers’ information.
Some reports claimed that the personally identifiable information (PII) of around 7.5 million (75 lakh) users was apparently exposed in the cyber breach and that users who were willing to pay for the database, up to Access can happen, after which the domestic audio and wearable brand boat has responded.
Some media reports on Saturday revealed that a database of users registered with around 7.5 million BoAt had been leaked on the internet and that these databases were put up for sale, said to be worth around €2 (₹180). Data metrics leaked to the database include the names, phone numbers, email addresses and customer identification numbers of users registered with the bot.
