New Delhi, November 22 (UITV) – Meta’s popular chatting app WhatsApp has introduced a new and useful feature to further improve the experience of its users. This feature called Voice Message Transcript will allow converting voice messages into text. The company says that this feature will prove useful in situations when users are in crowded places or are unable to listen to voice messages.
This feature will work without interrupting the conversation of users. This means that users can also do other work while chatting. WhatsApp has said that the Voice Message Transcript feature will initially be available in select languages and later it will be rolled out globally in other languages.
WhatsApp said in its blog post, “It is a very special experience to listen to the voice of loved ones while staying away from them, but many times users are in such a situation where it is not possible to listen to voice messages. In such a situation, this new feature will prove to be very helpful. ”
WhatsApp has also taken care of the privacy of the users regarding this feature. The company has clarified that the transcript will be created only on the user’s device. This means that no one, not even WhatsApp, will be able to access the voice message. This feature will fully maintain end-to-end encryption.
To use this feature, first you have to open the WhatsApp app. After this, you have to go to Settings and select the Chats option. On the chat itself, you will get the option of voice message transcript, which you can turn on or off and set your preferred language.
WhatsApp says that you can use it by going to Settings, Chat and Voice Message Transcript.
WhatsApp told about the transcription process that you should long press any voice message, tap on the Transcribe option in the pop-up menu, after which the text version of the voice message will appear on the screen in front of you.
Earlier, WhatsApp launched the message draft feature. This feature was for those users who forget to send incomplete messages after typing them. With the help of the draft feature, incomplete messages appear at the top of the chat list, so that users can complete them quickly and send them.
WhatsApp will launch the voice message transcript feature worldwide in a few weeks. This will prove to be very helpful for those users who have trouble listening to voice messages due to lack of time or in noisy places.
