Lucknow, November 12 (UITV)- Samajwadi Party (SP) national president Akhilesh Yadav has strongly cornered the state government over the ongoing protest by students against the Public Service Commission (UPPSC) examination in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. Akhilesh Yadav reacted strongly on behalf of his party to this movement and accused the BJP government of not being sensitive towards the unemployment of youth and students and their future. He said that the primary agenda of the BJP is not to give jobs to the students, but it is only busy in maintaining its power.
Akhilesh tweeted about this movement on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), saying, “The atmosphere has now become ‘Yogi vs. Competitors’. Today, the question on the lips of every candidate, student and youth of competitive examinations in Uttar Pradesh is that jobs are not in the agenda of the BJP.” He further said that during its government, the BJP only used ‘lathi-danda’, but it had no intention of giving jobs. Akhilesh said, “We do not want a useless government, which is run by incompetent people.” He also criticized the BJP and said, “The BJP government keeps the people engaged in the struggle for livelihood, so that they can continue to do corruption through communal politics.”
Akhilesh Yadav also alleged that the BJP government does not release new vacancies for years and even if it does, the examination process is not completed. Due to this, the future of the students is in darkness. He said, “The BJP has taken the students away from their study desks and brought them to the streets.” He also alleged that the people of the BJP are now increasing the anger of the students by inciting their negative feelings. Akhilesh also said that now the students and their families will not fall into the trap of the BJP. He said, “Now even the parents who were victims of false propaganda of WhatsApp groups have understood how the BJP exploited their feelings.”
Akhilesh also said that nothing positive is going to happen under the BJP rule. He believes that the fall of the BJP will open the way for the upliftment of the students. He said, “There is a contradiction between BJP and jobs, jobs will come only when BJP goes.” He also raised the question whether the BJP government will bulldoze the students’ hostels or lodges, as happened earlier during other protests.
Akhilesh took a dig at the BJP and said, “If the BJP government was so strict, then today BJP leaders would not have to sit hiding in their homes fearing the anger of the students.” He also said that the BJP leaders and workers are now scared of the anger of the agitators and the BJP flags have now been removed from their homes, shops, establishments and vehicles. “Now these students and their families are asking where are the leaders of BJP, which claims to be the biggest party in the world.”
Akhilesh also alleged that the BJP leaders are maintaining silence during the students’ movement and are busy enjoying the fruits of power. He said, “When the voice of the students was being raised, the BJP leaders were hiding somewhere. ”
Finally, Akhilesh opposed the negative politics and false propaganda strategies of the BJP and said, “Now the time has come when people will reject the negative politics of the BJP and adopt positive politics that unites.” Thanking the students and their families participating in this movement, he said that this is the time for the downfall of the BJP and only after this will job opportunities open up in Uttar Pradesh.
It is known that the students had started a sit-in protest in Prayagraj against the decision of the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) to conduct the Provincial Civil Service (PCS) ‘Pre’ and Review Officer (RO) Assistant Review Officer (ARO) examination in two days. Showing their unity, the students protested by lighting mobile torches at night. This protest continued till late evening and the opposition parties also surrounded the government in support of the students.
