Prime Minister Narendra Modi had a telephone conversation with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and wished her and the people of Italy on the 79th anniversary of Italy’s Liberation Day.
The G-7 Summit is being held in Puglia from 13 to 15 June 2024. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has received an invitation from Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni to attend the G-7 summit. Prime Minister Modi spoke to Italian Prime Minister Meloni on Thursday and thanked him for inviting him to attend the G-7 summit, the Ministry of External Affairs said in a statement.
The G7 summit is being held under the chairmanship of Italy. The two leaders discussed taking forward important outcomes of India’s G20 chairmanship at the G7 summit. In particular, the two leaders discussed supporting the Global South.
During the conversation, the two leaders reiterated their commitment to further strengthen the strategic partnership between the two countries. They also exchanged their views on regional and global issues of mutual interest.

The G-7 summit will be held between June 13 and 15. The results of the current Lok Sabha elections will be announced on June 4. Before announcing the Lok Sabha elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had said in February that he had already received invitations from other countries for July, August and September. These countries are confident that the BJP government will come back to power.
