During the IPL 2025 match between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Mumbai Indians (MI) at Wankhede Stadium, Jasprit Bumrah made his return to competitive cricket after a four-month hiatus due to injury. In the fourth over of RCB’s innings, Bumrah delivered a shortish ball to Virat Kohli, who moved towards the leg side and dispatched it over deep midwicket for a six.
Commentating on the shot, former West Indies pacer Ian Bishop remarked, “No respect, batters just looking to dominate this powerplay, irrespective of the bowler.” Former India captain Sunil Gavaskar added, “Welcome back, Jasprit.”
Kohli went on to score 67 runs off 42 balls, including eight fours and two sixes.
