Kyiv, December 30: The death toll in the biggest air attack on Ukraine since the beginning of the Russia-Ukraine war has risen to 30 and the number of injured people exceeds 160. Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko has given this information.
Clemenceau said in a post on Telegram that several buildings were damaged in the airstrike on Friday morning. At least 53 people have been rescued from the debris of damaged buildings.
According to a report by Xinhua news agency, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces said that Russia launched a record 158 drones and missiles against Ukraine. Out of 158 drones and missiles, 115 were intercepted.
It said that air strikes have been carried out targeting Ukraine’s military centers, important infrastructure, industrial centers, etc.
Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko said that nine people have been confirmed dead and 28 injured in this airstrike in Kyiv.
The missile fired by Russia was intercepted when it was approaching a warehouse in the Shevchenkivsky district. The warehouse caught fire after being hit by missile fragments. Due t the the maximum number of deaths being reported there.
Several casualties were also reported in the central Ukrainian city of Dnipro, Odesa, the eastern city of Kharkiv, and the southern cities of Zaporizhia.
