Tel Aviv, January 1 (UITV) – The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has confirmed the killing of Hamas’ Nukhba platoon commander Abd al-Hadi Saba in a recent drone attack. According to the IDF, Abd al-Hadi Saba led the attack on Kibbutz Nir Oz on October 7, 2023. The IDF also said in its statement that the Nukhba platoon commander of Hamas’s Western Khan Yunis Battalion has been killed in the Khan Yunis area of southern Gaza. The attack was carried out by the IDF and the Israel Security Agency (ISA) based on intelligence information.
Based on intelligence, Abd al-Hadi Saba, the Nukhba platoon commander of the Western Khan Yunis Battalion, was killed in an IDF and ISA attack, the IDF wrote on social media platform X (formerly Twitter). In addition, the IDF also said that Abd al-Hadi Saba, who was operating from a shelter in Khan Yunis, was leading the infiltrators during the attack on Kibbutz Nir Oz on October 7.
The death of Abd al-Hadi Saba as a result of this attack eliminated an important Hamas commander who was actively involved in the October 7 attack. Earlier, the IDF claimed that it and Shin Bet had killed Anas Muhammad Saadi Masri, the northern region commander of Palestinian Islamic Jihad’s rocket unit. Masri was actively commanding rocket attacks on Israeli border areas from northern Gaza and he was supervising several operatives firing rockets into Israeli territory.
The IDF had also earlier informed that units working with Shin Bet killed 14 Hamas terrorists, six of whom had participated in the October 7 attack. These operations were part of the ongoing activities of the IDF’s 162nd Steel Division in the Gaza Strip. The 162nd Division conducted operations in the areas of Jabalia and Beit Lahiya as part of a joint operation by the IDF and Shin Bet to locate and eliminate terrorists involved in the October 7 attack.
This particular attack was a response to the attack on October 7, 2023, in which Hamas carried out a major terrorist attack on Israel. More than 1,200 people were killed in this attack and more than 250 people were taken hostage. However, Israel launched a strong retaliatory strike against Hamas in Gaza, resulting in the deaths of more than 45,000 Palestinians in Gaza. This ever-escalating conflict and the resulting violence have sparked global concern and calls for a ceasefire.
At the same time, Yemen’s Houthi rebels and Lebanon’s Hezbollah, often considered Iran’s proxy organizations, have intensified their attacks against Israel. Both these groups have increased the intensity of attacks on Israel, which is causing even more tension and international concern.
The situation has become extremely complicated at this time, as on the one hand terrorist attacks against Israel have increased and on the other hand, Israel’s military actions in Gaza are also causing a large number of civilian casualties. The global community is constantly appealing for a ceasefire, but no concrete solution is visible at the moment. It is clear from these events that this conflict cannot be resolved only by military power, but diplomatic efforts are also required.
