Tel Aviv, January 3: Five people have been killed in an Israeli attack on the Red Crescent hospital in Gaza. A five-day-old infant is also among those who died. The Israeli attack hit a hospital within the compound of the Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) in Khan Yunis, southern Gaza.
According to the OCHA, Al Amal Hospital was attacked on Tuesday.
It said a training center within the hospital complex, operated by the Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS), was seriously damaged in the attack.
Giving information about those killed in this attack, PRCS has said that at least five people including a five-day old infant have died in this attack. 14,000 people were taking shelter in a hospital in the southern Gaza city of Khan Younis. Many of these people have now left, those who remain are very scared and extremely worried about their safety. The safe survivors are planning to leave the place to save their lives.
Through a post on social media platform X, he said, “Under international humanitarian law, hospitals, health workers, ambulances and people providing care must be protected at all times. The bombing by Israel is unfair and unjust.
World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus condemned the Israeli attack on the Red Crescent hospital and called for an immediate ceasefire.
OCHA chief in Gaza, Gemma Connell, has also condemned the bombing and said that there is no longer any safe place in the area.
He further said, “No child should be killed in the world. The world should be ashamed of this act.”
